Dear Menlo Park City Council,

I am the property owner at1450 Rosemary Street in the Hamilton Park Community. My neighbor at527 Sandlewood Street left aflyer on my doorstep requesting my signature for a petition to removethe "NO STOPPING" signs on the streets of the Hamilton Park Community. I want to make it clear that I am AGAINSTany petition to remove the "NO STOPPING" signs on the streets of theHamilton Park Community.

First of all, every person who purchased ahome in the Hamilton Park Community was on notice prior to purchasingthe home that no parking would be permitted on the streets within theHamilton Park Community, except for specially carved out parkingspots. The lack of parking enforcement in past months does not constitute grounds for changing the parking codes.

Secondly, from my personal experience, the streets within the HamiltonPark Community simply are not wide enough to even allow parking on oneside of the streets because it is very difficult for two cars going inopposite directions to maneuver when any car is parked on the streetswithin the Hamilton Park Community. No one should be subjected tohaving to maneuver around cars parked on a street that is not designedto have any cars parked on the street just because certain persons ownmore cars than they can park in their garages or on theirdriveways. As for visitor parking, there is plenty of street parkingavailable on Hamilton Avenue and Chilco Street.

Third, it ismy opinion that allowing cars to park on the streets within theHamilton Park Community will negatively impact property value. Neighborhoods with high property values typically have very few cars,if any at all, parked on the streets. It is my belief that the overallappearance of the Hamilton Park Community will be enhanced by thecontinued enforcement of no parking on the streets except in thespecially carved out parking spots. I urge the Menlo Park City Councilto reject any petition to remove the "NO STOPPING" signs on the streetsof the Hamilton Park Community. Thank you.

Best regards,

Erin Ming, Esq.
