video and pictures of Obrien Drive

Good morning City Council,

I am an owner of a building on Obrien Drive. I have owned the building for over 27 years.

I am contacting you re: the decision to eliminate all parking from Obrien Drive; in addition to adding bicycle lanes to this street.

This would be a hardship for my company. I believe that the rush to this decision did not adequately address my community realities.

The traffic study didn't accurately portray the daily activity; so I have attached pictures and videos I took randomly last week. Please pay particular attention to the semi-trucks lined up; the bus, and the line up of vehicles to the signal light at Obrien/Willow and the line up to the stop sign at Kavanaugh. I don't understand the need for bicycle lanes. Currently maybe 5 riders use Obrien. I believe when Facebook moves in their riders will not come down Obrien to Willow. They will head East, more directly to their other facilities and to the restaurants on Hamilton. So I believe adding bike lanes will be an additional cost that doesn't benefit the community.

To state that this area is "a desolate wasteland" is inaccurate and frankly quite insulting. This committee member should recuse herself because of her obvious bias.

My husband and I are proud of the company we build over 30 years. We have supported the community/JobTrain generously because we believe in their viability and efforts to rebuild this community.

I hope that you will listen to my/community input.
