Congressman Jay Inslee (WA) on Clean Energy -- Kepler's Th 3/27 7:30pm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The Clean Energy Economy and Global Warming are hot topics in Silicon Valley these days! Jay Inslee's new book, Apollo's Fire: Igniting America's Clean Energy Economy is a superb primer on these subjects. Inslee serves on the Energy Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and is a champion in Congress for progressive energy policy.
I'll be introducing my friend Jay Inslee at the event, who will be speaking along with co-author Brackston Hedricks.

Green Ribbon Citizens' Committee (GRCC) Kicks Off Year Two
Pursuing a Climate Action Plan was the GRCC's primary recommendation in its Climate
Action Report in November. The recommendation was echoed in an independent consultant's
report.
In 2008 the GRCC will engage with five community sectors to provide education and
tools to reduce their greenhouse gas footprint: schools, businesses, communities
of faith, building professionals, and homeowners/ neighborhood associations. In
addition, participants will continue research and public education efforts regarding
sustainable building, energy, waste reduction, transit/transportation, and green
business.
