Renters Protections

I'm writing as a former resident of Menlo Park, asking that the city
council increase renters' protections. I understand this is being discussed
at the city council meeting tonight.

I was a resident for Menlo Park for only a few months. My rent was $1600
which was more than half of my take-home pay as an editorial manager at the
time. I had to move to San Jose and now I contribute more to the traffic
because I could not afford rent in Menlo Park.

I wish I could still be part of the community of Menlo Park and have a
shorter commute to work, but I cannot afford it. I hope you consider
increasing renters' protections so you do not lose more community members.

Thank you very much and kind regards,
Nicole Evans
