Sharon Road sidewalk feedback from resident

Dear Council Members,

Good Afternoon. We are residents on Sharon Road, between La Entrada and
Alameda, since January 2015 and recently our neighbor informed us about a
Œproposed╣ sidewalk that the city is allocating funds for.

We are not in favor of such a sidewalk.

I walk my daughter to La Entrada and a number of students/parents do the
same everyday without having any safety issues. As a matter of fact, cars
tend to slow down and drive responsibly especially at morning and dismissal
times. I frequently go for walks from my home to Sharon Park, and in my
experience cars tend to go much faster in our neighborhood where the
sidewalks exist.

Having a sidewalk is likely going to exacerbate existing issues such as
street parking. Street parking is already a challenge as service people,
gardeners, etc go about conducting their business. The school events cause
our street to serve as a parking area; many a times I have friends who
request to park in our driveway when there is no street parking available.
In addition, issues such as drainage, cyclists safety should also be kept in
mind. Not to mention, some of the lovely heritage trees that exist on some

Thank you for all the hard work towards our city!
