2019 Goal Setting - Responsible Development, Public Benefits that Materialize, Capital Improvements and Quality of Life

Dear Menlo Park City Council:

Attached is a list of issues that I believe need some attention this year. This is not my exhaustive list, however much of what I find to be of concern centers around the extreme level of development we have been experiencing combined with the minimal and in some cases non-existent community and public benefits that have come with the development. While there is no question that the development has had an extremely positive fiscal impact on Menlo Park, at issue is my concern about the residents in District 1 bearing much of the burden from the impacts but receiving little of the benefit. I am hopeful that the capital improvements implemented in our city moving forward will reflect that all parts of our city are treasured not only in word, but evidenced by the way our entire city looks.

Best regards,

Sheryl Bims
