Removal of Redwood Trees on El Camino _at_(domainremoved)

Hello MP City Council,

I have learned of the planned removal of a number of Redwood trees due a parking structure that was built after the trees planted. I feel compelled to write to express my strong desire these trees be saved. I understand plans include the planting of a number of juvenile non Redwood trees in place of these beautiful 30+ year old Redwoods, and I implore you to further explore options / have the building owner propose alternate solutions that do not involve destroying these trees. Our trees are what makes Menlo different from our neighboring communities, just drive El Camino from here to / through RWC and you recognize the sharp contrast of trees/no trees as you cross the boundaries. I know there are a number of other MP residents concerned about this situation and surely we can do better. Let’s not be a Joni Mitchell song please!

I look forward to hearing back.

Best Regards,
Michele Sherman
