Dear Mayor Ohtaki and Councilmembers,
MidPen has reviewed the staff report regarding the permit process for electric vehicle charging stations and supports the staff recommendation. Our staff had a robust discussion on the matter at the EQC and has many areas to follow up on as we take this community through the design review process with planning. We are proud to be a partner in implementing strategies for reducing our City's carbon footprint and will continue to pursue ways where we can do our part to upgrade energy infrastructure.

Subject: Thank you!

Dear Commission members,

Thank you for the time you spent discussing the EV charging space exception for affordable housing developments, and considering the implications. We truly appreciate your thoughtful analysis, your recommendation, and the various suggestions you provided. We will watch this as it goes to City Council and are committed to exploring the other possibilities you provided, such as solar panels, light posts with plug-in capability, and load-management equipment. We are in discussions with our architect and electrical engineers and will continue to keep you informed as we dig in.

Thanks again and have a wonderful weekend.
