The New Guild Theatre

Hi Folks,

My wife and I have lived in Menlo Park for 14 years now. We love living here and raising our two children who are now 12 and 15. Downtown Menlo Park has always been a fairly quiet town, almost too quiet at times, at least during the weekends. A majority of our night life (dinners, entertainment, etc.) is spent in other nearby cities (San Carlos, Palo Alto and Redwood City) because nothing stays open past 9-10pm in Menlo Park. I am writing in enthusiastic support of the New Guild project. This would be an amazing opportunity to preserve a piece of Menlo Park's history and provide a vehicle for movies, music, comedy, plays, talks, celebrations, etc. This would add tremendous value to our city and provide another great option for all of us (adults and children alike). Thank you for your vision and support of The New Guild. I can't wait for this great new venue!

On another note, it's sad to see Menlo Park turning into 'LA'...it is starting to feel overcrowded. With all of the new buildings going up on El Camino, once those are all occupied, getting around Menlo Park is going to be a nightmare! Please slow down on the growth as our infrastructure will not be able to support it.
