I have lived and rented from 3 different apartments in Menlo Park, CA 94025 since 1984. Going on 24 years now

2 of the apartments I have lived in, I did so for 10 years and the next for 11 years, respectively.

This apt that I am now living in, has been 2 years and almost 3 months and because of issues with the property itself, I decided I didn't want to live here any more and started looking for another place to live, whether that is in West Menlo Park or Palo Alto or Mountain View.

I believe I have been discriminated against, regarding this rental property at 3114 Alameda De Las Pulgas, Menlo Park, CA 94025 that I saw today with the owner.

Owner name is "Christina" and her phone number is 650.854.1833

I found the post for the house at 3114 Alameda De Las Pulgas, Menlo Park, CA 94025 this morning on CraigsList.org. http://www.craigslist.org

And called Christina on the phone and we met at the house at 12:30 PM this afternoon.

I have written out what happened exactly the way it did happen and posted it on CraigsList.org in Apt's/Houses for rent Menlo Park, CA 94025, of which I will supply the CL address as well as the entire post titled: $3380 This Woman Discrimnated Against Me W/Out Taking My Credit Application

James Schwent is the person who handles all the details and is the Administrator for the family Estate.

I will also contact the *Attorney for the Estate, xxx.xxx.xxxx*, in San Jose, CA,* Phone: xxx.xxx.xxxx*, who will back up anything A. G. Edwards and Sons says, regarding my income.

I am very busy myself what with looking for a house/apt to rent in either Menlo Park, Palo Alto and/or Mountain View, CA and will also have to plan visits to other apartments and/or homes in the area.

I also owe 30 days notice to my current landlord.

You and your husband are going to be in a world of financial hurt by you discriminating against me without taking my credit application for your home in West Menlo Park, that you have listed on CraigsList.org

I have copied and pasted all of your listing into a WORD file document to further prove this to whomever I need to show it to.

You discriminated against me W/Out Taking My Credit Application and THAT is against the law !

I called Cristina at about Noon today and she asked me if 12:30 PM was good for me and I said yes and I met with Cristina at the house and after viewing the house with Cristina she handed me a credit application, with a smile

After doing a couple of things, like eating lunch and a couple of hours later, I called Cristina and told her I had my credit application ready and was it OK for me to drop it off today or is Monday good for you :) ?

Cristina tells me "I am out the door with my husband and SHE will call me back.

Cristina never called me back and had this other Hispanic woman, who had blocked her phone # from me, who didn't understand simple English, give me a ration of shit, because I am retired and don't have a job.

I told her I can and will show her my income through my financial institution and she can see for herself from my credit application, that I am a good responsible person with only the highest of references from my previous addresses as well as my credit rating and personal references, of which my credit is at the higher level of Good - Excellent, like 650.

I am white and Cristina is Hispanic. So this other (idiot) woman calls me and starts giving me a ration of shit telling me that "since I don't have a job...blah blah blah I yelled into the phone WE ARE DONE and hung up

I HATE stupid people and/or people that think they have power over me when they don't and in this housing market, this same woman tells me that apartments and houses for rent are hard to come by. Imagine that :)

"Her friend who called me back" is also Hispanic

This is the 1st I have ever been discriminated against and I have to tell you, I am outraged.

This woman who I am speaking with on the phone, tells me they have "people coming in and viewing the house "every ten minutes". I said to my self, I said "Self, really ? Then why in the last 20 minutes that I've been here with you Cristina, has no-one else shown up ?"

Thank you thank you ! I had no idea what to do I have documented everything, and will include this e-mail you sent/I replied to :)

She doesn't live there. She lives somewhere else, possibly Redwood City. The home is empty.

I will also send the council members my CL Post and all of her post, which as I said, I copied and pasted into a Word document and have it all dated, as well as the credit application she never took from me, with my name, signature and date. 1.26.08
