Expanding library hours on Tuesday mornings

My name is Sonia Chang and I am a parent in Menlo Park. My young kids and I
come to gymnastics every Tuesday at Burgess Park. We tremendously enjoy it,
but we’d also like to stop by the library during our weekly morning visit.
Unfortunately, the library is closed all morning on Tuesday and opens only
at 12pm. This timing makes it difficult for children to visit the library,
as lunch time is usually 12pm, followed by afternoon naps. I have talked to
other parents who attend our Tuesday gymnastics class and many also wish
the library were open in the morning on Tuesday’s. I understand the current
library hours were instituted several years ago as a result of budget cuts.
Could this schedule be revisited, perhaps by adding back 1-2 hours on
Tuesday mornings and cutting some evening hours so that families with young
children can fully enjoy the benefits of the library on Tuesday’s?

Thank you so much,
Sonia Chang
