Correction to Palo Alto Daily News article
Today's Palo Alto Daily News includes an article regarding the Menlo Park City Council's approval of a project at 1906 El Camino Real. The article contains a serious error, and I urge the Daily News to print a correction.
Without quoting me, the article nevertheless attributes completely false information to me: The erroneous sentence reads: "Since approval of the project's scope came at the hands of the former council, however, current members have an unspoken obligation to move it forward, Council Member Kelly Fergusson said."
I said nothing even closely related to that either in public or to the reporter. I said nothing regarding the prior council. Not only did I not say anything remotely resembling what was printed, in fact, no prior city council even saw this project, to my knowledge.
The current council and the current council only has responsibility for this approval. The statement by the Daily News that there is an "unspoken obligation" is completely and utterly false. Frankly, I am offended by the implication that anything other than the merits of the project itself was considered in the approval.
The council's lukewarm reception of this project highlights just how critically important our El Camino visioning process is right now so that future projects will be truly beneficial for the city and our residents, and will enhance the vibrancy and character of our commmunity.
Kelly Fergusson
