Dear Council Members,
I am writing this letter in support of two of the projects currently in the Planning Approval process as replacements for vacant restaurants on El Camino Real. Specifically 1906 and 1706 El Camino Real.
I have become increasingly concerned with the number of vacant sites along El Camino and the almost derelict appearance this gives to Menlo Park. This creates a very negative character to the city and by association with all of our businesses in Menlo Park. The building that I occupy, Menlo Center, went through an endless process of delays, all for reasons that ended up being unfounded. I hope that concern about traffic, building size, and appearance will not prevent appropriate development in Menlo Park. Menlo Center has been a significant contribution to the vitality of the City and I hope that we are not needlessly halting that kind of progress.
I am familiar with these two projects and I urge your support and speedy approval of these well designed buildings so they also can contribute to the diversity and vitality of Menlo Park.
Sincerely,
Clark Kepler Received on Mon Jan 7 16:15:18 2008
