Guild Theater

City Council Members,

I’m writing you to share my absolute support for the Guild Theater project. I’m 43 years old, born and raised in Menlo Park, currently live in west menlo and have three children attending Oak Knoll school. Simply stated my wife and I bleed 94025. Every aspect of Menlo Park is superb with one significant exception, it has no identity past 6:00 PM. Sadly the restaurants and night life are nonexistent when compared to our neighbors, both Palo Alto & Redwood City. We have an active family and circle of friends constantly in search for a new great local restaurant or gathering spot. I’m confident a theater such as the Guild would be the perfect domino to get Menlo heading in the right direction. With the success of this theater comes positive press and attendance. Visitors would dine pre and post at our existing restaurants. New restaurant operators would believe in our City and elect to open new concepts continuing to improve residents dining options. I was hopeful BBC would have been that domino but sadly
it appears it’s missed the mark slightly. Hopefully a few minor improvements can get it on track, this would certainly help. Anyhow, I’m 100% confident a theater idea like this is the catapult we are all so deeply desiring!

Sincerely,
Mike Courson
