Dear city council members,
I have lived on ringwood ave for the past 7 years. I was not able to attend todays meeting but I would like to voice my concern about the rebuilding of the pedestrian overpass. My major concern is safety. This year I had my house broken into over the high school spring break. Detective Jaime Romero was the lead Detective for my case and they were able to apprehend a high school kid who did the break in. As a result it has made me more cautious of the overpass as it leads directly to my street and overlooks down to my house. I also have had non-ringwood people leave garbage on my curb. Once a few hs kids rolled a tire from the overpass down the ramp and it ended up on my lawn. The kids ran when they saw me approach them. The overpass is more of a burden than a convience. The bridge doesn't seem to be utilzed much and the costs to rebuild it could be better spent on other city projects. The free shuttle service should be extended to the early mornings for the students that use it and willow road should be rebuilt to accomodate bike traffic. I hope you make the right decision.
Best regards
Ferdinand casido
