I read there's a meeting coming up on sidewalk construction. Here's a
crazy idea that might work for making downtown more friendly for bikes
and pedestrians.
Could we "supersize" the downtown sidewalks to allow a special lane for
bikes? I notice so many Hillview kids biking on the sidewalk for the
sake of safety -- maybe we should just make it official and provide a
sidewalk lane for bikes? In order to gain the space needed, we might
make Santa Cruz one-way and keep the on-street parking for the sake of
