Peter Fortenbaugh, the Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the
Peninsula, sent me the following link to a video that was created by one of
their members who attends their Redwood City clubhouse. Since the Boys &
Girls Clubs of the Peninsula is one of the non-profits that we financially
support as a city, I thought you might be interested in viewing it.
Peter tells me that the young man who created this, Victor, did it on his own, and it was not created as a marketing tool. Despite this fact, it certainly does a good job of describing the mission of this institution.
I found the words to be very inspirational, and they're copied below.

Here are the song's lyrics:
Make It Right
Let me tell you a story about a young brown man
Growing up in the struggle always had problems in hand
But really! It's not just him it's his community
The absence of a father affecting the opportunity
Young kids growing up with thugs around their lives
Thinking life's all about selling drugs or getting high
Giving them bandanas before they even know how to write
I had that problem in my life but I'm just trying to make it right
I went from gutter to butter from nothing to something
I did it all up on my own and didn't have to be hustling
I followed the right road and now I think positive
Cuz if I didn't I know I would be doing the opposite
I think its sad how young brothers want to kill each other
Fighting over the turf or die for different colors
Ima wait for this world to change
If we unite then we can all live the better days, its one love.
Thanks again,
Peter
