Stanford Sand Hill Development

Dear Council,

Thanks for reconsidering Stanford's Sand Hill development. West Menlo
desperately needs some relief from traffic and construction -- not only
from volume but also from noise and pollution.

BTW did you see the NY Times report that the House tax bill is proposing a
1.4 percent tax on universities with large endowments? Perhaps it's time to
reevaluate Stanford's local tax exemption.

I also would like to reiterate my suggestion that Stanford help fund mostly
underground parking garages at the existing Park-n-rides in both San Mateo
and Santa Clara counties. Why not build mostly underground parking garages
on Caltrans land too? These would be tied into Stanford's shuttle system.

tx again,
