New Vehicles for the City Fleet - Electric, Zero Emission Options

Dear City Council Members and staff,

Regarding the new work truck added to the vehicle fleet announced recently, please consider zero emission and electric options for future purchases (city digest announcement item below). A local company called EVAOS Inc.<www.evaos.com> can convert virtually any work truck into a clean electric version. They have developed an Energy Mobility platform with multiple energy saving, distribution, and Back To Grid Smart technologies all in a single work truck. Please see the slide below for reference.

You may have seen one of EVAOSís electric trucks on display at the downtown block party last August. This was made possible thanks to Council Member Carlton for bringing this company and their electric work trucks to our attention.

One way that the city could attract innovative equipment options like this would be to issue an RFP for the cleanest, most cost effective fleet vehicles meeting the Cityís needs, ideally pooling the vehicle purchasing with other cities or with the County.
Thanks you for considering this option.

City Welcomes New Member to the Vehicle Fleet<https://www.menlopark.org/Blog.aspx?IID=891#item>

The Department of Public Works recently replaced an important piece of heavy equipment in the Cityís vehicle fleet. An updated 2017 model replaced the Departmentís 2003 combination truck. The new combination truck can do more than clean and jet storm drain lines. It can also be used for power washing sidewalks while vacuuming up the water used in the pressure washing process.
