Belle Haven Traffic Calming Study - Safe Routes Considerations

Dear City Council Members,

I am writing about tonight's Agenda Item F2 on the Consent Calendar, the
approval of the Belle Haven Traffic Calming Study scope of work.

On August 22, 2017, I submitted a document to Staff in the Transportation
Department outlining a list of concerns to be considered from a Safe Routes
perspective in the Belle Haven Traffic Calming Study scope of work:

This document was compiled via neighborhood walk throughs and feedback from
Belle Haven residents including Cecilia Taylor, Rachel Bickerstaff, Sheryl
Bims and others.

While some of the areas addressed in the document are covered in the scope
of work to be approved this evening, other areas have not been included.
Can you please ask Staff to address this discrepancy. In particular, we are
concerned about missing and opportunity to address safety concerns for kids
traveling to Beechwood, TIDES Academy, M-A, Willow Oaks and other locations.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
