Stanford Middle Plaza Project Accountability

Dear City Council,

I’m writing to ask you to hold a firm line and negotiate abetter deal on behalf of Menlo Park residents regarding the Stanford MiddlePlaza project. Stanford is developing this property as an investment and, whatever benefit it may bring to Menlo Park as a whole, it is at the overwhelmingcost to the Allied Arts neighborhood’s quality of life. I ask that the Council votesto insure that this project meets or exceeds Stanford's own: traffic reductionand monitoring standards, environmental sustainability standards, and paymentsin lieu of taxes to Menlo Park.

Asking this of Stanford is not unreasonable. In fact, weshould hold developers to high standards to protect our families and quality oflife.

I’m a 35+ year resident of Menlo Park. I’ve watch thetraffic, noise, and homeless problem explode just 150ft from me on El Camino and this project will, without question, only exacerbates these issues.Since the rest of Menlo Park has decided to sacrifice the Allied Artsneighborhood for this project, I’d like to know you at least tried to offsetour sacrifice by making the best deal for Menlo Park no matter howuncomfortable it may be. Let’s do better!

Thank you for your Consideration,
