San Francisquito Creek Flood Control & Stanford Middle Plaza
Dear City Council,
The residents of Menlo Park have been rather unanimous in supporting San
Francisquito Creek 100-year flood control by any alternative - except flood
walls. The ideal 100-year flood control alternative - upstream detention -
requires corroboration with Stanford University. The approval of the
Stanford Middle Plaza project is one of those rare times that the City of
Menlo Park has leverage over Stanford University - please use this
opportunity wisely. Maximize the benefits directly to Menlo Park residents
not city coffers. Don't let this opportunity pass without a commitment from
Stanford to corroborate and support the upstream detention 100-year flood
control alternative.
Sincerely,
Jim Wiley
