Sleepy Menlo Park, please wake up :)

Hi city council,

I've lived in Menlo Park for over 45 years. I'm embarrassed by slowly it
has modernized. Look how cool Redwood City has become - parking
structures, movie theaters, more housing, etc. Redwood City was a dump
in the 70s. Now it's the envy of the peninsula.

Menlo Park has abandoned car lots, empty watch stores, empty furniture
stores, and only one family-friendly restaurant on El Camino - Amicis. The
best things about Menlo Park are Cafe Boronne / Keplers, outdoor seating on
Santa Cruz ave, and the new astroturf sitting area near Starbuck's.

It's time for Menlo Park to enter the 21st century! More development, more
parking, and more modernization is not a bad thing, just plan it
tastefully. Please stop saying no to everything, attacking Stanford.
It's sad how every town around us (San Carlos, Burlingame, Los Altos...)
has modernized and grown, and Menlo Park has not, despite skyrocketing
funds from property taxes.
