Dear City Council Members,
Although we are all weary of the unsightly abandoned car lots on El Camino
Real, I urge you to negotiate
strongly and confidently with Stanford.
For example, they need to contribute their fair share in tax equivalents
for value received in terms of roads, police, fire and school benefits,
despite their non profit status. The contributions should be in perpetuity
and not just for 5 or 10 years.
Also, the pedestrian tunnel is to their advantage mostly, and they should
pay most of the cost (e.g. 90%).
Good luck and we are watching with hopeful expectations.
