Stanford deal

Dear Council,

I am not 100% sure I have all the facts and I do not want to judge prematurely, but I was told today of an aspect of the deal with Stanford for re-development along El Camino that made me cringe. As a Stanford alumni I love the school. I have 2 degrees from Stanford and am a loyal alumni. I give to the school and I want it to succeed.

However, Stanford is a wealthy school and has a breadth of supporters that far surpasses Menlo Park. I strongly oppose cutting any concession to Stanford that shifts school district costs to Menlo Park and its tax payers rather than being paid by Stanford.

Please do not anything other than a make-whole plan that forces Stanford to pay its full share for students brought into the district by their development.

Sincerely,

Michael Dittmar
