Please take note: Placing no parking signs on Sidewalks

Dear City Council:

Please don't put no parking signs on poles into the new sidewalks along Santa Cruz Ave. I live on Santa Cruz Avenue, painting the curbs to alert people they can no longer park on the street worked just fine. There is no need to add a pole into the sidewalks. The poles will cause pedestrians lose space for strollers, children and dogs. I'm not sure whose idea this was, but, in my opinion its not a good one.

If you absolutely have to put signs up, why not be consistent and put them in the city property area where you already have signs (no passing, merge to one lane etc.)? Trim back the bushes and trees in the city owned space that branch out and reach over the sidewalks and put the signs on the other side farther from the street in the city property into the dirt and do not drill holes in the new sidewalks.

Thank you

Rosemary Labanara Eiref
