Stand up to Stanford

Dear City Council,

I was happy to hear there is some pushing back on Stanford's ENDLESS
expansion. The Sand Hill 40,000 sf office building will produce how many
more rush hour trips for employees, and visitors on Sand Hill Road? And
adding more empty Marguerite buses up and down Sand Hill Road will not
count as traffic management. Let Stanford put in another traffic lane on
Sand Hill Road... they own all the property on the south side of the road
and they are the ones building out every square foot of property on their

Also, the El Camino Project is of concern. Stanford should pay the
equivalent of property tax on their housing in perpetuity with cost of
living increases. Why should Stanford be allowed to put in housing with
access to Menlo Park schools, library, etc. without paying "fair share"?
And the pedestrian underpass is entirely necessitated by the Stanford
project, so let them build it and pay for it.

This is the only chance City Council will have at bargaining with Stanford
and I urge you to negotiate forcefully.
