Honorable Mayor and Council Members:

With the devastation occuring in the Houston, Texas area, is there something that the City of Menlo Park can do to help? Some possibilities may be, as follows:

1) Send money

2) Send a few staff members for a week, or more

3) Send a sympathy card

4) Do Nothing

If things were in reverse, Menlo Park would be up a creek (pardon the pun). Devastation can be astronomic for not only city services but for the general population. America is known to be a compassionate country. Pulling together in the time of need is the right thing to do. The Fire District sent equipment and personnel. Charities are helping. FEMA has been and will continue to be there. However, a great deal more is needed.

For my tax dollar, I vote to do our part.
