Comments on the “2131 Sand Hill Road” Project

To the Members of the Menlo Park City Council:

I am writing as an owner and resident of the Sharon Oaks development on the opposite side of Sand Hill Road from the “2131 Sand Hill Road” Project. I am concerned about the additional road noise that this project will bring to the homes in Sharon Oaks. Over the years, as Stanford has expanded and grown, so has the road noise on Sand Hill Road from all of the traffic that Stanford generates. This road noise will only get worse with this new development, especially during rush hour. We have a wall to protect Sharon Oaks from noise generated by the activity on Sand Hill Road, but it is no match for the noise today on that road. I believe that, as part of the approval of this project, that Stanford should be required to contribute financially to the replacement of our wall along Sand Hill Road that does a better job of mitigating the noise generated by Stanford traffic.

Thank you,

Paul Flynn
