Noise levels on Sharon Oaks Drive

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Menlo Park City Council,

The noise levels along Sand Hill Road have increased dramatically over the
past five years, due to the large traffic increases. This is especially
true through the two rush hour traffic patterns each day.

We on Sharon Oaks Drive are faced with building a taller, thicker, more
sound resistant wall along Sand Hill Road.

Since a high percentage of the traffic increase has been caused by Stanford
University expansion, I feel Stanford should share in the responsibility
for mitigating the noise, especially at rush hours.

I understand that Stanford is currently seeking a permit to build on
unincorporated land across Sand Hill Road from Sharon Oaks Drive. This
construction will only add to the noise problem.

Please consider adding a requirement to the permit to have Stanford
financially assist the Sharon Oaks Drive Homeowners Association in the
noise abatement project.

Thank you,

Harry O. Postlewait
