Nealon Baseball Field/Dog Park

Hello City Council Members,

As I volunteer at Little House many days a week, I notice the wonderful work that has improved the baseball field at Nealon Park. I also see that the dogs seem very happy playing and socializing in the new area marked off for them. For that matter, the owners appear happy as well. After spending so much money to fix up the field, which is meant for baseball, softball and other sports, please refrain from moving the dog park back to the old location. I have written multiple times regarding this situation, I have friends who have created petitions and the parks and recreation people have agreed that a dog park does not belong on a baseball field. As a parent of a baseball player who had to practice at Nealon, I had to clean dog excrement out of his clothes and cleats, not to mention all the urine he slid in. The temporary dog park has shown the humans who feel their dog can only play on the field, and who are missing the point as to why it is unsanitary and selfish of them, that the dogs are just as happy at a new location. Please make the correct choice when it comes to relocating the dog park.

Thank you,

Michelle Bui
