Bike lane parking and general cycling enforcement issues

Dear Council,

As raised on Nextdoor this weekend (
https://downtownmenlopark.nextdoor.com/news_feed/?comment=116130118&lc=42113&is=nce&s=&link_source_user_id=3830314&post=57306821&ct=EYwjEzzoyn38hcdYGlTZ7v4fUz6r_fSdokjX0M67eS0nU_L_1J5NseGUrW_PKxwW&mobile_deeplink_applied=1)
your community is concerned about the City Council's commitment to safe
cycling in the community.

With a rash of increasingly brash bike thefts, over-vigilant cycling
infraction enforcement, and constant, daily motorist threats to cyclists on
our roadways, it is cavalier for the City to allow and/or overlook parking
in the bike lanes this weekend during Summer Fest.

I fear the City will fail to adjust the balance until we face a serious
tragedy on our streets.

I am sharing my thoughts with the Council and the Commission in the event
that this issue has not already been raised.

Jon
