Honorable Mayor and Council Members:

The local community has a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the City's past with a fantastic display currently available at the Menlo Park Public Library, 800 Alma Street, Menlo Park, CA. The Menlo Park Historical Association (MPHA) provided the archives, posters, information boards, etc. to help spice up the display. If you have not have an opportunity yet to see it, allow me to extend a warm invitation to do so.

Long before Menlo Park became a city, the United States Government created Camp Fremont, increasing the area's population from about 3,000 persons to over 40,000. Some of what was built then still exists today, per records from the Menlo Park Historical Association. For more information check out the month long display at the Library entrance. It will be available through the end of the month, Friday, June 30, 2017.

Thank you.
