illegal overnight parking in Menlo Park

I live in one of those 'border' areas that are subject to over flow parking
form neighboring communities.
Every night there are 4-8 cars parked along the street. Most nights there
is no police coverage...Last night I was up at 3:24ish and noticed the
police car lights in the street. It was interesting to watch then as they
picked and chose which cars they put notices on. They may well have had a
system, but it was not obvious to me watching them or in the morning when I
went out and looked more carefully.

This week was particularly alarming for the parking spaces in front of my
house and my side walk has been riddled with trash from cars, vomit, a
vodka bottle, what appears to be human feces, ( i pick up dog feces out
there all the time so think I know the difference) and some sort of goopy
stain, that is resistant to cleaning and a needle.

We live in houses worth millions of dollars, in a city which does not allow
its residents to park overnight on the streets, but the parking for others
goes on and on. I know my neighbors call and write and post on
nextdoor.....to no avail.

The issue needs a REMEDY. not an occasional drive by between 2-5. With
out a remedy we asking people to use our streets and sidewalks for dumping
ground as they are in other communities. I do not want that to happen to
Menlo Park. I happen to like the parking ban...It keeps the residents
using their driveways and out of the street, which makes them safer.
