Bedwell-Bayfront Park

Hi Mr. Murphy,

The City Manager encouraged folks to submit comments to the draft Menlo Park 2017-18 budget.

While I noticed within the budget funds for the landfill closure, along with annual maintenance (janitorial, weed abatement, etc.), I didn't see mention funds for enhancements for the public, such as

1) An additional bench or two, for use by those hiking, especially with small children, for the elderly, etc.

2) Repairs to the trails that may be considered trip and fall hazards, as safety should be our #1 concern,

3) Long over due maintenance to the trees, that have fallen over, dead or otherwise affected by the daughter.

4) A host of miscellaneous small items taking little time or money, such as additional signage, repairs to the parking areas, basic repairs to the storyboards, etc.

I understand the process of creating a Master Plan is underway, and this is good; however, at times it seems like needed items are on hold with ongoing work in a moratoreum. As such, would the city consider some of the above items or similar items be part of the 2017-2018 budget?

Thanks, Jim Lewis
