AB 1250

I am writing to ask that the City Council oppose AB 1250 which would
eventually eliminate the hiring of contractors to perform City services.

Menlo Park is currently the beneficiary of very efficient and cost
effective services which are provided by contractors.
The Burgess and Belle Haven Swim Programs are an outstanding example of an
effective public/private partnership which greatly enhances the quality of
life in Menlo Park.

The judicious use of contractors can rein in ballooning wage and benefits
costs which could render the City unable to provide such services to
residents in the future.

Please allow the City the opportunity to continue to use contractors to
provide cost effective and beneficial programs to its residents.
