Oppose AB 1250

Dear City Council,

I am writing to ask that you join the League of California Cities in opposition to AB1250 so that the City of Menlo Park maintains flexibility in its service contracts. We have plenty of capable leaders here in Menlo Park that know how to get stuff done so it is nuts to allow a lawmaker from LA try to trap our city into more public employee union arrangements. Our city needs to maintain its autonomy in deciding which services are best contracted out (especially seasonal work where demand can go up and down or work that requires highly specialized equipment and services) and find its own local quality companies to get the work done at a fair price for both the company and the city.

Thank you for your consideration.
