Park Theatre Proposal

From: Bob Joseph <bbjos_at_(domain_name_was_removed)>

Attention Mayer Fergusson & Council Members:

We strongly object to the proposed $1.4 million partnership with the Park Theatre owners, for the following valid reasons:

It would set a precedent such that certain other local property owners would be entitled to.

There are other more legitimate projects & improvements for these available funds.

The property is not and probably cannot be designated as a historic property.

There is no certainty that the property would be rehabbed up to "historical state".

There cannot be any guaranty that the proposed dance studio would be financially successful or sustainable. If and when the venture were to fail, Menlo Park would inherit a "white elephant" that would certainly result in a major financial loss.

In conclusion, forget it..don't do it...it's a terrible idea!
