FYI: the bicycle commission asked me to send this to the council as well to
ensure it is in the public record. I won't be able to speak in person

Just wanted to send some comments regarding the recent City Council
discussion regarding the trial. I was frustrated at the outcome and wanted
to make some points.

1) All of us in Menlo Park (and perhaps other adjacent cities/towns) are
stakeholders. I heard one council member talk about reaching out to
downtown businesses and affected residents. I interpreted the comments to
mean those close to the trial area. I live on the west side of town and
would be very upset if omitted from any survey or outreach to the community.

2) If I understood one of the transportation managers comments correctly,
Nativity's use permit requires/d onsite parking. They should have no say
regarding street parking.

3) Why should an event like the Nativity carnival be treated any
differently than the Sunset or USGS events were. They sponsored offsite
parking and shuttles (along with promoting biking and a bike corral).

Do my comments become part of the public record or must I speak during the
public comment section (i.e. I would love a tech friendly method of putting
my comment on record)?
