Oak Grove Vote!

Dear City Council Members,

Please do the right thing and move forward with the approved Oak Grove Bike Pilot. Our kids must have a safer way to travel across El Camino Real to and from M-A and Hillview. My children have had the glorious ability to learn to ride bikes safely in this Bike Safe town of Menlo Park. We moved from a small town in CT where they could never have ridden bikes because there were no safe roads and the town wasn’t interested in prioritizing this for our children, our air quality or our town.

Starting in August, our son will be in 9th grade at Menlo Atherton and we were counting on this project being voted thru so that we would know each and everyday that he could ride his bike down Oak Grove to and from home/M-A and be safe. This is in jeopardy now? WHY? Who is voting against it? What are their reasons? Don’t they want a safe town? Don’t they want our children to arrive safely and all the commuters who ride to their jobs to be safe as well?

This proposition is BRILLIANT!!! Please please vote this thru. We need this as a town!!! Lastly, you must also back up your claims to value Safe Routes. Now is the time.

Sincerely,

Ashley & David Wagstaff
Menlo Park Residents
