Oak Grove Bike lanes -- Pilot Project

Dear Council members:
I strongly support Menlo Park's proposed pilot project to install bike lanes as recommended by the Bicycle Commissionalong the University/Oak Grove Corridor.  I bike commute, rain or shine, between my work at USGS and home inRedwood City.  Often, my route includes Oak Grove, along the section where I've heard that the parents of Nativity Schoolstudents are objecting to the potential of loss of convenient, student drop-off points.
Undoubtably, you have read the letter sent by SVBC.  The coalitions make a very good point that, at this stage, the projectis only a PILOT, and based upon the results of the temporary installation, the final configuration can be changed tobetter serve all road-users (including parents) in the community.  Nothing, at the point, is permanent. I urgeyou to proceed with the pilot.
Thanks, John Langbein
