Oak Grove Bike Boulevard

Dear council members,

Please, please do not delay the bike boulevard. Progress in the area of
safe routes to school for students is long overdue.

Do not prioritize the concerns of a few over benefit to the whole
community. There are dissenters and opponents on EVERY project (as you well
know). And this is only a PILOT. If the Nativity situation is truly
untenable, that portion of the route can be reworked if and when the
boulevard becomes permanent.

Improving traffic is something every Menlo Park citizen wants. And it will
never happen if we don't upgrade bicycle and pedestrian safety so that more
people opt for these modes of transportation.

I live in downtown Menlo Park and am inconvenienced by the sidewalk
construction on Santa Cruz daily. But the joy that I get from seeing the
progress there trumps any annoyance I would otherwise feel. That project
gives me hope for the future of our city. Don't stop now!
