Move forward with the Oak Grove Bike Route Pilot

Dear Menlo Park City Council:

Please move forward with the Oak Grove Bike Route Pilot! I am a mother of
a 6 year old in MPCSD. We love to cycle to places in Menlo Park and that's
why we bought our home in menlo park because it is walking distance or
cycling distance to so many things. It is a huge differentiator for Menlo
Park versus the many cities in the Bay Area that are all about families
driving between strip malls.

We also cycle because during certain hours of the day (morning and
afternoon commute hours), it is impossible to get through Menlo Park city
traffic by car. Because some off the issues is due to growth of businesses
and families in MP but also definitely due to urban and industry growth of
our neighboring cities. I don't see this being figured out anytime soon.
Therefore, we need a safe route for our families and kids - Menlo Park
families and kids.

Almost any change will upset someone. I think the entire community knew
about this pilot coming up if they even spent anytime on Nextdoor or via
neghborhood email forums. This is a pilot so it means we can change
things and make it better. We need do it during summer so we are prepared
for the Fall when the kids start using it.

This is a very important topic for our family and we will be watching how
each council member will be voting on this topic.

I appreciate your advanced consideration and your vote to start Oak Grove
Bike Route Pilot by summer.

Thanks,
Daphne
