Dear Council Members:
We are writing to express our concerns regarding the City's potential ownership of the Park Theater. We do not support in any way using City funds to finance the purchase or improvement of this non-historic building. We believe that spending $2.2 million to invest in private property which would be used by a very small segment of Menlo Park residents is a egregious misuse of funds. This property could be developed for a much higher and better use, one that does not require government subsidies, and the money could be used for needed services or public amenities.
