Willows cut-through traffic

To the Menlo Park City Council:

Meghan Martinez
340 Marmona Drive

We are an 5 person family with three small boys.

We need your help. Please act on Willows cut-through traffic in 2017. It’s
a safety issue.

Willows Safe Streets is about increasing the safety of our streets by
reducing the volume, and the speed, of cut-through traffic in the Willows

On our street we experience, significant afternoon traffic traveling at
high rates of speed toward Gilbert. I assume these are people trying to
avoid the back-up on Willow Road by using Marmona. In addition to the heavy
traffic and speed, cars frequently roll-through the intersection at Gilbert
and Marmona and create a very unsafe situation for children and/or families
crossing the street at that intersection.

The situation here is dangerous. The problem feels intractable.

We need the reduction of Willows cut-thru traffic to be a city
transportation goal in 2017, and for resources to be specifically included
in the city's 2017 work plan.

As a neighborhood we will work collaboratively with the City to support
this work. We know things can be different. My neighbors and I are intent
on affecting meaningful change.

Thank you for your time,
