I am requesting that funds not be made available to purchase the theater on El Camino Real in Menlo Park. If Menlo Park has funds to spend on land, please save it for repairing the creek banks along San Francisquito Creek and thereby preserve existing buildings, land and homes. Some of these are or will be in danger of sliding into the creek until work is done to secure the banks.
Allied Arts Guild just spent a great deal on an emergency mitigation measure after losing 7' of creek bank. This is a 3.5 acre property that is open to the public without charge daily except Sundays. It is there for the enjoyment of people in our area, and there to raise money for underinsured children at Packard Hospital.
Our community must start putting funds aside to secure the creek banks once the Army Corp of Engineers has completed its study, particularly those of the Guild. Please do not spend it on a theater.
Thank you for your consideration.
