Agenda Item F-7: 120' TALL ANTENNA

Honorable Mayor and Council Members:

Why is this item regarding the installation of a 120' antenna on the
Consent Calendar?

A year ago when it last came up before the City Council, there was much
discussion about ways to screen the antenna. I don't see one word about this
in the staff report. There was also discussion about various possible
locations- especially with the concern of security, terrorism and damage. The
current antenna now located on the lawn is unprotected - no signs, no fence,
no nothing. Shouldn't there be ways to safeguard it, given its daily
importance?

Furthermore, there is now a backup antenna. What provisions are being made
for a new backup antenna? These and many other questions are yet to be
answered. I believe this topic is far too important to be on the Consent
Calendar, requiring more information. Please consider delaying the decision until
the community can be reassured further.

Thank you for your time and consideration. It is much appreciated.
