Fwd: We need a greater sense of urgency at Coleman and Santa Monica

Good Morning. I am copying you on an email I sent to Nikki Nagaya this morning as I would like your assistance in giving the transportation department the freedom to escalate the traffic around our schools to priority. Nikki and Kevin have been been wonderful and working very hard for us, they have other things that get triaged ahead of safety for our school children. While I understand the concern around commercial properties and 101, I feel it is imperative that a safe school passage way is created. If we don't do something ASAP I am extremely concerned we will be escalating these projects after a significant accident.

Thank you in advance for your attention,

Caryn Wasserstein

>> Good morning Nikki! I know you have asked us for patience, but I'm concerned we are on the verge of a significant accident at Coleman and Santa Monica. This morning I witnessed a car go around the stopped bus that was picking up kids and go left on Santa Monica from Coleman coming from Willow. Everyone honked at him as he almost hit three different people including a car and a biker. After that I witnessed a car coming out of the apartments making a right on Coleman almost hitting a child biker who was crossing Coleman from the Eastside to the Westside to get to Santa Monica. We really need you guys to help now. I don't want to see us wait until someone is seriously injured or worse. Thank you so much for your time and attention we appreciate your hard work and diligence.
>> Warmly,
