don't ban gliders at Bayfront park

Dear City Council Members,

I fly gliders at Bayfront park most weeks. The gliders are radio
controlled but do not have a engine or propeller. This type of radio
controlled plane is called a hand-launch glider. They are lightweight and
silent. I fly them in the center of the park away from all the shorebirds.

These gliders are no threat to humans or animals. Instead of annoying or
scaring park visitors, I find that people enjoy watching them fly and are
interested enough to stop to chat and ask questions about the planes.

I support access of Bedwell-Bayfront park to all kinds of radio controlled
model planes but it would be a shame if objections to specific types of
aircraft lead to banning all aircraft.

Best Regards,
