Parking restriction considerations as a result of Laurel Upper School, council meeting 8/23/16

Dear Sirs,

Resending as a PDF file, without photo pages, as I understand the original attachment did not go through because it was too large.

I will address the council meeting on 8/23/16 regarding my and my wife’s opposition to parking restrictions under discussion for the area near the Laurel Upper School. We are at 101 O’Connor St. and will have a sidewalk installed in front of the house, and understand no parking will be enforced in front of our house. We are not opposing no parking in front of our house (we do not believe it is something we have the option to oppose), but we feel that parking restrictions under discussion for the area are onerous.

I have attached the notes I will speak from, and respectfully ask that you review these prior to the meeting. In particular, I surveyed the area near the Laurel Upper School, as close as possible to the morning dropoff and afternoon pickup time, and parking does not appear to pose a risk to pedestrian or bicyclist safety, or the flow of vehicle traffic. I will not cover each photo I have taken, only the one page summary of the number of vehicles parked in the area when I took the photos.

Best regards,
Steve Curavo
